This class is for anyone interested in learning or improving basic musicianship skills such as reading simple note values, listening, focusing, and improving co-ordination. You will explore and experience the elements of music: timbre (tone, bass, slap), tempo and dynamics of music, and learn to experiment with the techniques of call and response, ostinato, call, break, improvisation, and syncopation.

No previous music experience required, nor is there any need to practice outside of class. A
Djembe drum will be provided for you, but they cannot leave the building.
