Advanced Theory ~
Who this class is best for:
Any members who have an interest in learning more about how music is created.
Open to anyone from any band level.
Ideal for those who can read music and want to learn more about how the notes were arranged on the page by the composer (Concert Band and up).
What this class does:
This class will teach members about the three and four note chords, figured bass, chord inversions, and basic part-writing.
Ear training is also a part of this course
This is a non-performance course.
Have writing materials, including staff paper.
Have taken Intermediate Theory or have a good understanding of intervals and scales
Must be able to read and write in treble and bass clef
Knowledge of music notation software (e.g. MuseScore) is an asset
