W1 ~ Flute FUN-damentals

The flute is an amazing and versatile instrument; technical prowess and having a great tone in all registers is so important.  Join this amazing and interactive workshop and learn how to get the best sound possible out of your instrument.  The focus is on sound, embouchure, breath support, and enjoying all aspects of the flute.  This workshop is suitable for flute players of all levels – beginner through experienced.  Bring your flute and have fun!

Katherine Watson obtained her Masters in Music performance from McGill University in Montreal, her Artist’s Diploma from The Glenn Gould School of The Royal Conservatory of Music, and her Bachelor of Music in performance from the University of Toronto. She is currently a member of the Toronto Winds and Charm of Finches. Katherine has performed with London Symphonia, the Kingston Symphony, the Peterborough Symphony, the Niagara Symphony, the Ontario Philharmonic, Messiaen Ensemble, Mandel Philharmonic, and Verissimo Ensemble. Katherine has presented several concerts, featuring both local contemporary composers, as well as standard repertoire for various chamber ensembles. When she’s not making or teaching music, Katherine is often outside running, as she is an avid runner with a love for racing!
